Facilitation for the team building of global leaders of TOYOTA Team MECA(Middle East and Central Asia)

“Start Your Impossible” is a inspiring new message of TOYOTA that seeks for the transformation from motor company to mobility company, which stands for its challenge to realize “Mobility for ALL” .
TOYOTA supports 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games as an official sponsor and deploys Toyota Hero Project which aims to shape the world where anyone can take part in associating with Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

“Start Your Impossible” is also a philosophy shared by all Toyota Group staff, and through various activities, Toyota aims to spread the “Start Your Impossible” mindset to employees, subcontractor staff, and others, and Toyota also supports a variety of activities in line with the “Start Your Impossible” in many ways.

This time, we invited staff from distributors in 10 countries in the Middle East region who embody the “Start Your Impossible” mindset and held a 3-day event as Team MECA SYI(Start Your Impossible) in August 2019. In addition to a tour of Toyota’s founding museum and factory, the event included presentations to share each participant’s “Start Your Impossible” story and organized a workshop to share the each other’s experiences and perspectives.

Knowledge Sign was pleased to facilitate this three-day event.

How to foster teamwork in a short time?

The most challenging point of this global facilitation was how to foster a sense of unity and teamwork among members from 10 countries in a short period of time.
The participants were selected from the same Toyota Group companies, representing distributors from different countries, and even within the same Middle East region, each country has different cultures and customs. They are also competitors in the “Start Your Impossible” mindset presentation competition.

Under such circumstances, the team members were able to develop a sense of unity and team spirit in a short period of time. Through repeated dialogues, they were able to find commonalities in understanding the same Toyota philosophy and dive into what “Start Your Impossible” mindset should look like.
Even during the competition on the third day, which was the main day of the event, all members praised the winner, and the entire team shared a sense of mutual pride in each other.
I was honored to be part of this epic event as a facilitator.
Below is a video of the event, which has been made available to the public for your viewing pleasure.
